Moving and shaking: Culture Counts April Update

It’s been a big few months over here at Culture Counts.

After many months of hard work, the Impact & Insights Toolkit was launched last week by our team in the UK – more on this below. The first phase has seen the onboarding of 347 Arts Council England funded organisations, including 71 Band 1 organisation. We are incredibly excited to start a journey with these organisations and empower arts workers across the UK to communicate their impact, value and place in the fabric of the UK’s vibrant cultural life.

CEO Michael Chappell visited Toronto, Canada in March to deliver a keynote address to the Digital Arts Services Symposium. The conference brought together arts and cultural advocates, educators, producers and technologists together to advocate for the vital role that technology will play in benefiting the arts.

Last week, Michael and Client Director Alison Lasek took to the road for three days in Sydney to visit our growing NSW client base. We’re excited to now be working with the Australian Museum, Art Gallery NSW, City of Sydney Major Events & City Business departments and Sydney University.

After eight fantastic years sharing an office with NH Architecture, the Melbourne office has relocated. Our growing team can now be found at Fitzroy coworking space United Co.

All this space is making room for our ever-growing team. The Melbourne team have been joined by data scientist Tom McKenzie, and the Perth office has welcomed data whiz Marc Dunford.  Tom and Marc will be analysing trends in big data and the ways audiences engage with arts and culture across regions and artforms. We will be sharing these valuable insights with our clients in the coming months.
